Clothes that fit

It turns out that the clothing industry is like the computer industry: a few open-source rebels in an industry that works on propriety stuff. The NY Times reports that the open source rebels want to make a universal size chart that would be free to the public while most companies want to keep their proprietary sizes because once a customer figures out her size in their brand, she is too tired to shop around.

[insert futuristic cool software that could make a 3D model of each person so you could try on your clothes in the virutal world if not for those darn business people trying to get you in their stores and the shipping agencies who make a buck when you return clothes that just don't fit]
