Hendrix acoustic blues

If you're going to play with so much soul, hey, don't bother to tune. Here's Hendrix playing the 12 string acoustic. It's the only acoustic performance I know of his. We have the song on CD (thanks to my lovely fiancee) but I wonder where this video is from?

silly dolphins

Neuroethologist says dolphins are NOT the smarty pants of the ocean . Apparently, their brain cells are mostly glia not neurons. Neuroscientists are still trying to figure out what glia do but this guy emphasizes their role in brain temperature regulation. This news article didn't talk about the white matter volume which is pretty important for intelligence. He also lists a few situations where dophins are stupid. Maybe we could make a list of situations where people are stupid?

No comments were made regarding whether dolphins are still cute

Step down, Loserman!

Joe Lieberman loses primary but decides to run as an independent. Did he lose for making out with the president? For being pro-war? For running on a Republican platform in the Democrat's primary?

Well, these guys say it better than I ever could:

Colbert report on Lieberman loss

Daily show on Lieberman loss

Go Ned Lamont!

ever wonder about the cited scientists so Big Oil can dispute global warming? Are they Raytheon employees? members of the Bush family? Fiction writers? Actually the cited scientists are speaking out about how their research is being used to the NYT:

Peter Doran clarifies his research

if you have a NYT subscription you can read the original. Thanks, Paul, for sending this link.

Feel hot last month? Well it was the second hottest July ever recorded.
